“A Cape Cod Destination Icon For 40 Years”

Monarch Butterfly

Nancy found this Monarch Butterfly feeding on Seaside Goldenrod in the town of Brewster.
She reminded us that if we don’t spray and offer native plants, we’ll see more butterflies (and birds).
We couldn’t agree more.
Thanks for the photo and the reminder, Nancy.

Our very own Little League Team…not

For the last four decades we have sponsored a team (The Bird Watcher’s) in the Cape Cod Senior Softball League. And, because we sponsor the team, I felt certain they would let me play with them. However, when asked them about joining, they told me I was too old. Maybe...

Up-up has left the building…

In case you missed it, Up-up, Wild Care’s screech-owl paid us a visit today. The small but serious bird posed for photos and selfies, and even answered a few questions. Up-up had such a good time it promised to come see us again. We’ll post the details of its next...

Look who’s headed our way…

This Saturday, November 25th, "Up-Up," the Eastern Screech-Owl and a crew from Wild Care will be visiting us from 10:00-12:00. Although Up-Up isn’t scheduled to arrive until 11:00. Apparently, Up-Up needs extra beauty sleep.

Lots of hats…

With nearly 600 hats filled, our annual Free Hatful of Potatoes Day was once again a big hit, especially with this particular group. I’m not sure exactly who they are, but they win the award for having the best smiles of the day.

The spuds are in the house!! …

We just received two tons of fresh Massachusetts grown potatoes, for our annual Free Hat Full of Potatoes Day. Stop by this Saturday, Nov. 18th, anytime between 9:17-5:11 and we’ll fill your hat with delicious potatoes. Just don’t forget your hat...or you’ll go...

Oh no…

In the forty years we have been in business we have seen a lot of folks come and go. Some have simply moved away, while others have ultimately left this world entirely. It’s something we have come to expect…but we didn’t expect to lose one of our own. Long before he...

Check out this handsome couple…

Ned and Laura, from Springfield, VA have just sent us this colorful photo of Ned sporting a 2019 BWGS shirt, from the Waipo'o Falls-Waimea Canyon Trail, Kōkeʻe State Park, Kauai, Hawaii. (Ned is also wearing a Boston Red Sox hat. Clearly he is having a much better...

Well, this is different…..

Here’s a T-shirt photo we didn’t expect.  While on a troll hunt in Copenhagen (seriously), Matt came upon Captain Nalle  (seen here with a beard). Matt says he helped the good Captain pull his boat ashore, which wasn’t easy since it appears to be low tide. Great...

There’s a New Kid in Town!

After months of incubation, hatching and growing, a brand new Osprey chick is ready to take flight from her nest in our back parking lot. Growing up between the dumpsters, delivery trucks and asphalt, the little bird proved once again that dedicated parents are far...

Party In The Galapagos…

In celebration of Suzanne’s birthday (I’m not sure which one, but 23rd would be my guess) she and Steve took a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Not only did they have a great time, but they started a fashion trend on the Galapagos. Awesome photos you two…and happy...
