No, not the American Robin. The smaller bird on the right is a Western Tanager from, as you might have guessed, the western half of North America. It was drinking at my birdbath with about a zillion robins today. Birdbaths can be quite popular this time of year, especially when natural fresh water freezes up. So, keep an eye on your birdbath. You too may get an exciting rare visitor. You won’t get any money for it, but it’s still exciting.
Look who’s back…
The snow has melted, our power is back on and the BWGS Ospreys have returned. They are already busy building their nest, and while also helping to clean up the branches that blew down from the last blizzard. Thanks Osprey and welcome back!
