No, not the American Robin. The smaller bird on the right is a Western Tanager from, as you might have guessed, the western half of North America. It was drinking at my birdbath with about a zillion robins today. Birdbaths can be quite popular this time of year, especially when natural fresh water freezes up. So, keep an eye on your birdbath. You too may get an exciting rare visitor. You won’t get any money for it, but it’s still exciting.
